Our Mission

The Materials Characterization and Preparation Facility (GZ) (MCPF (GZ)) of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST(GZ)) is a central research facility for the synthesis and characterization of advanced materials. It occupies about 2500 square meters of purpose-built laboratories and houses a wide range of sophisticated equipment needed for in-house and collaborative materials research.

The mission of MCPF(GZ) is to provide researchers in HKUST(GZ) with access to state-of-the-art instrumentation essential for their research and teaching in materials science and engineering. As a university’s centralized research facility, MCPF(GZ) aims to support not only individual faculty members of HKUST(GZ) but also researchers from other institutions and industries.
